Remuneration: £65,000 per annum- plus £1000 working from home allowance

The Liaison Deputy Team Lead will provide support and guidance to the non/ clinical team, alongside the Liaison Nurse (LN) Lead to ensure safe and effective service delivery within PUK.  To provide clinical support to the Patient Services Team, Consultant Psychiatrists, Prescribers and any other team member who may raise a clinical query in relation to a client who may be presenting with acute mental health difficulties. 

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.

As our Liaison Deputy Team Lead you will:

• Develop and Maintain SOPs: Contribute to creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based service delivery.

• Provide Clinical Leadership: Offer supervision, mentorship, and support to team members, promoting professional development and maintaining quality standards.

• Ensure Information Governance: Uphold Caldicott Principles, safeguarding patient confidentiality and the appropriate use of personal data.

• Facilitate Team Integration: Act as the liaison between clinical and non-clinical teams to promote cohesive, multidisciplinary working practices.

• Lead Recruitment and Induction: Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for Liaison Nurses and Associate Practitioners, ensuring a supportive induction.

• Support Performance and Quality: Work with the LN Lead to address performance issues, implement quality assurance, and uphold clinical standards.

• Maintain and Promote CPD: Keep up with your own CPD and encourage compliance across the team.

• Manage Complaints and Incidents: Collaborate with relevant teams to investigate and respond to complaints, incidents, and patient safety concerns.

• Deliver Evidence-Based Care: Provide high-quality, patient-centred care using shared decision-making, informed consent, and NICE-aligned practices.

• Build Internal and External Partnerships: Foster effective working relationships within P-UK and with external stakeholders, including NHS and third-sector organisations.

To succeed as our Liaison Deputy Team Lead you will:

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to the changing demands of the service. Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (provided by the organization); active registration with the DBS Update Service is required at the employee's expense.

Highly self-driven and well-organized, with a strong dedication to providing compassionate, accessible, and high-quality care. Capable of working independently while remaining calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure or challenging situations.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current and valid registration.

• Evidence of recent and ongoing Continued Professional Development (CPD).

• Completion of a Mentorship course or equivalent.

• Formal training in risk assessment and risk management.

• Leadership training or relevant leadership qualification.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership or management role within mental health services (e.g., equivalent to NHS Band 7 or higher).

• Proven experience in delivering clinical and managerial supervision, staff appraisals, and management of both clinical and non-clinical teams.

• Demonstrated ability to investigate and manage incidents and complaints effectively.

• Experience in staff recruitment and selection processes.

• Specialist clinical knowledge relevant to mental health services, including application of evidence-based practice.

• Strong ability to foster collaborative working relationships across individuals, teams, and external organizations.

• Effective conflict resolution and management skills.

• Working knowledge of legislation related to acute mental health care, including statutory and regulatory frameworks.

• Advanced IT proficiency, with the capability to work independently as a remote practitioner in an online service setting.
