Remuneration: £50,000 per annum - plus £1,000 working from home allowance
Contract Type: Fixed Term (6 Months) / Full time – 40 hours per week
Location: Home-based/various UK meeting locations as required

As our Compliance and Assurance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our mental health services continue to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care while meeting regulatory and governance standards. Working across the organisation, you will provide expert oversight and assurance, helping to embed a culture of continuous quality improvement and regulatory excellence.
You will lead and coordinate key quality and compliance initiatives, including maintaining organisational readiness for Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, conducting Internal reviews, monitoring delivery of our Quality Strategy and improvement plans, as well as producing key compliance and assurance reports.
Working closely with clinical, operational and Quality & Safety teams, you will ensure evidence is robust and up to date, quality strategy actions are effectively implemented and monitored, and any emerging risks are identified and escalated appropriately. Your work will provide senior leaders with clear assurance on organisational performance, regulatory compliance and the ongoing delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.
As our Compliance and Assurance Lead you will:
Support delivery and monitoring of the Quality Strategy, ensuring progress against objectives, KPIs and CQC domains.
Monitor quality improvement action plans, tracking milestones, evidence, risks and escalating issues where required.
Analyse quality and compliance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for service improvement.
Lead and coordinate CQC inspection readiness, including self-assessments, evidence collation and regulatory action plans.
Maintain knowledge of the CQC mental health assessment framework to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
Produce and coordinate Quality Accounts, assurance reports and governance updates.
Collate and interpret information from clinical audit, Internal Review and Risk Registers to support assurance reporting.
Provide regular progress updates and assurance reports to senior leaders and governance committees.
Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to ensure action plans are SMART, evidence-based and effectively implemented.
Demonstrate experience in quality assurance, clinical governance or regulatory compliance, with excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
To succeed as our Compliance and Assurance Lead you will have:
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in quality, governance, compliance, audit, healthcare management or a related field.
Experience working within, or in partnership with, mental health services.
Good understanding of mental health pathways, clinical governance and service quality standards.
Good working knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory framework and assessment requirements.
Experience supporting services to prepare for CQC inspections, assessments or regulatory information requests.
Experience producing or coordinating Quality Accounts and other statutory quality reporting.
Experience preparing governance papers, assurance reports or performance reports for senior leaders or committees.
Experience of monitoring and tracking quality improvement, governance or Quality Strategy action plans to ensure timely delivery.
Ability to review evidence, identify risks or gaps, and escalate issues appropriately to support regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional development in clinical governance, quality improvement, audit, compliance, risk management or healthcare leadership.
Experience of working within, or in partnership with, mental health services.
Good understanding of mental health pathways, clinical governance and service quality standards.
Good working knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory framework and assessment requirements.
Skilled in quality assurance, clinical governance or regulatory compliance, with excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent report writing skills for producing Quality Accounts and other statutory reports.
Experienced in preparing governance papers, assurance reports or performance reports for senior leaders or committees.
Experienced in monitoring and tracking quality improvement, governance or Quality Strategy action plans to ensure timely delivery.
Ability to review evidence, identify risks or gaps, and escalate issues appropriately to support regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills.
